How long does Restylane last for?
The effects of Restylane differs on each individual.
It is usually dependent on a number of factors such as the degree of correction required, the age and lifestyle of the patient as well as the skills and placement of the product by the practitioner.
Official trials indicated that it can be effective for 6 to 12 months when used to treat wrinkles and for 6 to 9 months when used for lip augmentation, however, there have also been claims of the results lasting longer than indicated.
Who should not use Restylane?
Individuals with a known hypersensitivity to hyaluronic acid.
Pregnant or breastfeeding individuals.
Individuals under 18 years old for facial folds.
Anyone where the proposed injection site is suffering from pimples, hives, cysts or other infections.
Restylane should not be used by anyone with a known allergy to lidocaine.
Associated Side Effects
Common effects after treatment may include mild swelling, redness, pain or bruising.
They usually last less than 14 days following a treatment for the lips and less than 7 days after a treatment in the facial folds.
Swelling may be more likely to occur in patients under 35 years old whilst bruising may be more likely in patients over 35 years.
