Juverderm Vs Restylane: Which is best for you?: Which is best for you?

Juvederm and Restylane are sterile filler gels made from naturally occurring substances such as sugar and bacteria, they can be used to enhance and correct many cosmetic issues faced by people in modern society. They contain no animal or human DNA and are created in a laboratory specifically for cosmetic use. Restylane and Juvederm are approved by the FDA and produced within the European Union. The fillers both contain hyaluronic acid which is produced using bacteria, it is a naturally occurring substance in the skin and body which works by attracting water. It contributes to hydration and volume making the skin appear fuller and more youthful.

Juvederm and Restylane can be used to treat lines, define lips and plump up any hollow areas. They work efficiently on the following areas: cheekbones, lips, above upper lip, lines from the nose to the mouth and from the mouth to the chin. They can be used to restore volume to cheekbones and occasionally under the eyes or on the back of hands. Each area shall be discussed between you and the practitioner and will be based on your personal needs. Prices are based on each individual syringe and depends entirely upon you and the treatment areas selected. They pose little allergen risk and do not require an allergy test beforehand unless you have reacted to bacterial protein elements before.

One of the main differences between Juvederm and Restylane is their consistency and how this affects their performance.  Restylane is described as granular or particle filled which means it is more cohesive when it is injected and can be used to build layers of volume. It must be checked over and actively smoothed over during the cosmetic procedure. Juvederm has a smooth consistent base and spreads into the tissues with little lumps or layers.

Restylane has a lower concentration of hyaluronic acid than Juvederm so the results do wear off quicker. Restylane can last between 2-6 months while Juvederm can last up to eight months and is believed to give more natural looking results. Juvederm has also branched out and created an Ultra range which can last up to 6-9 months depending on your body and its absorption rate.

All dermal fillers come with a risk of bruising and bleeding, so they should be approached carefully and timed appropriately before events. It is not recommended for individuals who are pregnant, lactating, on NSAIDS for medical purposes or suffering with a blood disorder.
